Sol is an 8 month old Chihuahua who was surrendered by her family when they lost their home in the wake of hurricane Maria in Toa Baja, Puerto Rico. She had continued living in the destroyed house since then. The owners had not been able to keep her due to their current unstable living situation and reached out to @soulsofsatos, who then asked us to help find Sol a safe forever home in New York.

Sol safely arrived on December 4th and has gone straight into a foster to adopt home. She’s now in Brooklyn with her new mom Adriana. Over the summer Adriana lost her Pomeranian of 19 years and was looking for a dog to love who can help fill the void in her heart and home.

It’s fitting that her name is Sol, which means sun ☀️ in spanish. She was understandably a little nervous at first but Adriana’s calm and nurturing demeanor is quickly helping her real personality shine through. Welcome to Brooklyn little lady!

I’m happy I found my forever family!
