The moment we saw a picture of this poor boy’s emaciated state, our hearts dropped. How could someone make a commitment to take in a living creature, one who’s capable of feeling love, pain, happiness and fear, and leave them ABANDONED, STARVED and NEGLECTED? Moose was there to love them unconditionally, but they discarded him like trash.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

At an appalling 30 pounds full grown, Moose is a purebred adult Labrador who is severely malnourished with his hip bones and ribs sticking out of his tiny body. He also has a wound on his tail and a lesion on his muzzle which appears to be from a cage. Before a passerby found him in a park and brought him to safety, who knows when the last time was that Moose had a proper meal, a bath or any real love from humans.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Despite the neglect he has faced he remains exceptionally sweet.

Moose has the calmest disposition, he looks at you with warm soft eyes that are just longing to be loved, and takes treats so gently. Please pray for a steady, smooth recovery for our Moose, you can also make a donation of any amount to help us with his care via the link in our bio.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

He is now safe and adored in his foster home and we’re going to help him fill in his frame, grow a thick shiny coat and get all the love he’s missed out on. After a bit of decompression he will visit our vet for further testing and an appropriate age estimate, we assume he’s around 5-6 years old. Here’s to a new future for our gentle boy Moose. ❤

I’m happy I found my forever family!

We rushed LEVI to Sheepshead Bay Veterinary Group for a proper diagnosis – where he tested positive for heartworm. Next was AMC, after several specialty consults, extensive neurological testing, X-Rays, an echocardiogram, MRI and spinal tap – we got the heartbreaking news
