Gia was rescued off the streets of Russia, where she ended up homeless after her owner passed away. This 40 pound beauty was left starved, neglected and poisoned. Thanks to a dedicated team of rescue workers and one of our supporters in Brooklyn, we got the word, and rushed to help and bring her here for a better life.

Last weekend this girl arrived safely in the big city and has settled in quite nicely in her foster home. Gia loves people and loves getting cuddles and scratches from them. She likes other dogs too, but can be a little timid at first. For a dog that has witnessed such pain and horror – Gia is full of energy and PURE LOVE, she’s always got a big goofy smile on and wags her tail back and forth (swipe to see!). She loves to lay on the floor and be pet and pampered, and loves exploring NYC on her walks. She will be great in any home that will keep her socialized and exercised, including one with children or other dogs. The only thing that can make this pretty girl’s smile even bigger is finding a forever home to spend the holidays in. Apply to adopt Gia below and email dana@rescuecity.nyc with any adoption questions.

I’m happy I found my forever family!

Hoarding Case Rescue

We can’t begin to put into words the horror of animal hoarding and what it does to it’s victims. We need YOUR HELP to help them with their transformation and provide these dogs with the medical care they’ve neglected to receive their entire lives.

We are happy to step in to change the lives and fate of these dogs, and are pleased to have the opportunity to show them that kindness and compassion exists.
