On a nice sunny Monday morning, Elvis and his owner went on their usual walk in the park … only this time, the walk ended with Elvis being homeless … Everyone wants their own “forever” – we love permanency, as do animals. How do you think Elvis felt when his entire world turned upside down and what was permanent for TEN years suddenly became obsolete?

Tied to a tree he once loved to pee on; alone, shaking and extremely scared is how Elvis was found by one of our supporters, who immediately took the pup to our vet. He was nervous but allowed all handling and testing to be done. a heart of gold and a face of gray – Elvis is said to be a 10 years old long-haired chihuahua with great temperament and friendly with all.

Elvis is a super friendly and happy boy. Initially he’s very nervous with new people but opens up pretty fast and certainly knows how to beg for a good petting! He hops up on his hind legs and literally touches your hand to pet him! Great with dogs and cats. Super mellow fella who would do great in a tight-nit environment.

I’m happy I found my forever family!

Rescue City Emergency Relief

This pandemic has led to a great deal of uncertainty for us all. Many are surprised to learn that COVID-19 affects animals as well– shelters have already seen a huge uptick in owner-surrendered pets. We have even had a puppy surrendered to us after only TWO WEEKS (read more below). We are continuing to do our best and help the dogs that need us the most in this uncertain time, but that also means we need YOU.
