Dakota sized

Back in November we met an amazing couple who helped us rescue an English Bulldog named Lola. Since then, they have been in touch with us and were inspired to save dogs. Recently, they contacted us to let us know they were going to save an 8-10mo old Labrador Retriever, much like their own dog, from a Kill Shelter in the South. Due to the shelter rules, the time constraint on their decision and the distance, there was no way to tell how well their super friendly dog would do with a new pup in the house. Well their worst fear became a reality when a week after bringing this sweet girl into their home, their dog not only stopped eating/being active or wanting to be touched, she also became extremely agitated towards the new pup. They truly tried to get them to get along while working with a trainer for several weeks and contacting us for advice but with each step forward, the dogs took a step backwards. Please welcome Dakota to Rescue City, this 8-10mo old Labrador Retriever (possibly a mix) is super friendly with dogs, cats and loves children, she’s very fast and  loves to run around outside. Dakota is very sweet, has been house trained, loves to cuddle and give kisses. She shows to be truly thankful to be out of the terrible conditions she faced in an overcrowded shelter.

I’m happy I’ve found my forever family!

Rescue City Emergency Relief

This pandemic has led to a great deal of uncertainty for us all. Many are surprised to learn that COVID-19 affects animals as well– shelters have already seen a huge uptick in owner-surrendered pets. We have even had a puppy surrendered to us after only TWO WEEKS (read more below). We are continuing to do our best and help the dogs that need us the most in this uncertain time, but that also means we need YOU.
