This little cutie is Daisy, 5 year old Shih Tzu/Lhasa Apso Mix! Daisy was found outside about 1.5 years ago and after a long search, her owners were never found. Daisy’s finders kept her to avoid a shelter, she was doing great until she got caught in between two large breed dogs who jumped at her and tossed her around, injuring her, both, mentally and physically. Her wounds have fully healed, but her trust is yet to be fully restored. Due to difficult life changes her finders pleaded for our help and we are going to help Daisy find her forever home! Daisy craves attention and is super affectionate, for those she trusts she allows any kind of handling. However, she is weary of new people and slowly accepts them. Daisy never bites, but often shows her teeth when she is scared, with proper corrections, she settles quickly. We have been working with her for a week now and she improves daily, she’s fostered with a yorkie and we believe she will do well in a home with a docile companion. We don’t recommend a home with children as her trust lever relies on human treatment and behavior.

I’m happy I’ve found my forever family!

Rescue City Emergency Relief

This pandemic has led to a great deal of uncertainty for us all. Many are surprised to learn that COVID-19 affects animals as well– shelters have already seen a huge uptick in owner-surrendered pets. We have even had a puppy surrendered to us after only TWO WEEKS (read more below). We are continuing to do our best and help the dogs that need us the most in this uncertain time, but that also means we need YOU.
