Copper is one of the dogs that we were able to save with your help. He’s a 7 year old, 65 pound Hound Mix who spent the entirety of his life living outside. While initially arriving very shut down and frightened, Copper hasn’t let his previous situation affect his love for people and life. ⁣

Copper arrived to a foster home in Brooklyn, NY were his very patient foster mom @whatminloves and one of our volunteers @pimentel.jesse @cooldogmomusa worked diligently to help him get comfortable and settle in, but ultimately we figured a house in the suburbs with other dogs would be most beneficial for his progress. ⁣He’s still a bit shy, but he’s learning to trust, walk on a leash (instead of just pooping down and refusing to walk), what it’s like to sleep inside a real home and the difference between inside and outside! He has made tremendous strides in his foster home with foster mom Natalia, and is a teddy bear who is so open to all affection. He’s getting along AMAZINGLY with two big dogs and two young kids. You can see just how much love he’s got to give in his soulful eyes, and we are certain he is going to make a wonderful companion to his forever home. The next step is getting Copper fully vetted, and most likely a much needed dental. Copper’s ideal forever home will have other dogs for him to thrive with. Copper really needs another dog in the house to teach him all the ropes. He’s an excellent big mush that will surely be your best friend forever, and be so grateful to have a forever family, and within a week is loving walks and has had no accidents.
