Toffee is another RC critical case.  Last week @n Toffee is another RC critical case.  Last week @nycacc reached out pleading for a rescue to take in this 4lb puppy, suspected of having pneumonia and hypoglycemia who needed out ASAP. We stepped in to save Toffee.Within 20 minutes of his arrival in our care, we rushed to @amcny for diagnostics, x-rays. Thankfully, pneumonia was ruled out. After discussing further hospitalization, Toffee's vitals picked up. We couldn't bear the thought of leaving Toffee alone in a hospital cage in his vulnerable, unvaccinated state, so we made the choice to provide him with 24/7 care in a loving foster home.Toffee is yet another young puppy, likely purchased from a pet store and then discarded by someone who couldn't care for him. What if Toffee had been left outside in the freezing cold? What if no one had found him in time? Thank god rescue came in time. Now, Toffee has become a true delight in his foster home, aside from two seizure episodes last week (likely due to hypoglycemia). His foster is keeping a watchful eye on him as he awaits his forever home! She shares "He's such a sweet boy who is a bit apprehensive of new people and experiences, but once he warms up all he wants to do is be around other people + dogs." Toffee has been on a strict feeding schedule, and is sometimes hand fed to make sure he is eating everything. He also has honey in his diet every two hours to keep his sugar levels up. As he continues to grow stronger and recover, we are hopeful (and almost certain) he won't need any additional supportive care and will be a happy, confident playful puppy. We are so relieved to play a role in Toffee's second chance at life. However, we are facing a difficult financial situation, struggling to cover our bills. The cost of Toffee's emergency visit alone was a staggering $4,896. We've (almost) raised nearly half of our emergency medical fund goal, but we can only make it with your help.Would you be a lifesaver for Toffee and other Rescue City dogs? Please, consider giving now and help us give more dogs like Toffee the chance they deserve.♥️Donate via this post

Courtesy post for our friends at @animallovingcare Courtesy post for our friends at @animallovingcare.Meet Dobby! He is a pittie mix found (after sadly being dumped) by the highway in Coney Island. He was lucky to be found and is being cared for by an Animal Loving Care staff member. He was emaciated and with no basic training but is now learning and doing great while waiting for a loving family to come along. The vet thinks Dobby is 3-4 years old. He is now up to date on shots, friendly to other dogs and in a home with them, he is sweet and a little shy with people, not yet neutered. Please contact @animallovingcare if you or someone you know could be the right fit for Dobby. Please share to help find home a home.
